It has been such a joy to see the smiling faces of this month’s co-members of the month in the front row this summer. Whenever they come to class they are ready to go, give every ride all they’ve got, and they’ll even throw out a few “whoops” and “yeahs” to sweeten the pot. Friends and fellow riders, meet Nadia and Sam. I am so pleased to announce that they are this month’s co-members of the month! I asked them a few questions about themselves and their time at Watts and this is what they had to say:
Q: How did you get into cycling?
N: I started cycling during my junior year at FSU to become more active and fit, and to relieve stress!
S: When I was a freshman at Notre Dame, I discovered cycling classes were offered through the RecSports program. I had never taken a cycling class before, but after one session I was hooked!
Q: What keeps you going back?
N: The proud feeling I get after completing such a tough workout, how much better I feel about myself mentally and physically, how much fun I have during class, the awesome instructors, and the music!
S: I love that cycling incorporates great music and intense cardio in a group setting. Being surrounded by fellow cyclists and encouraged by the instructor really motivates me! One great aspect is that everyone is in control of their bike and can ride at their own intensity. Everyday is different and I am able to adjust my workout accordingly.
Q: WHy do you love Watts?
N: I love Watts because of how friendly and
welcoming the instructors are! The instructors make the classes very easy to follow and the workout goes by very fast because of the amazing music! The classes are tough but the instructors keep you motivated throughout and you feel great at the end!
S: Watts is a hidden gem of Indianapolis. I am new to the area and happened upon Watts while searching for a downtown cycling studio. The instructors are very motivating and positive during every workout. Whether I come for a 6:15am or 7:00pm class, the instructors are energized and ready to kick off the workout. I think it is important to workout in a comfortable, supportive setting, and Watts is just the place!
Q: What is your favorite song to ride to?
N: Trap Queen by Fetty Wap! I also love anything by Pitbull and I can’t wait for another 90’s throwback class!
S: I would have to say “Fireball” by Pitbull. It speaks to me.
Q: Any advice for someone trying indoor cycling for the first time
N: “Wanting to be someone else is a waste of
the person you are.”
“Tough times don’t last, tough people do.”
S: During my last ride, the instructor (Lauren) mentioned a quote that I really loved:
“We do not workout because we hate out bodies. We workout because we love our bodies. ”
Too often we focus on all of the things we dislike about ourselves. We need to remember all of the great things we bring to the table and give ourselves a little lovin’!
Q: Tell us an unknown fact about yourself.
N: I am the proud mama of a one year oldShih tzu puppy named Bilbo Baggins!
S: I recently got engaged while kayaking off the coast of Hawaii! I’m just glad my fiancé didn’t drop the ring in the ocean 😉

This playlist has some classic rock and some contemporary jams to keep things interesting and make a ride fly by. Throw in some heavy hills and some jumps and you’ll have a ride that will be over before you know it!
